About Me
About Me:
Kenneth Arthur Hansen
Born:September 12, 1959
Died: August 27, 2010

Kenneth A. Hansen passed away in Stockton on August 27, 2010 at the age of 50. Born in Kittery, Maine, he has lived the past 23 years in Stockton.

He enjoyed life! Ken will be remembered for many different things but the one thing that stands out above everything else is his love to make others happy. Ken was always eager to serve and help anyone in need. It didn’t matter whether it was a stranger or a friend.
Most of all he enjoyed fun activities with his family. Ken’s different love of things to do was very diverse and each thing he did or tried he did with all of his heart and soul. He enjoyed ; fishing, rock climbing, martial arts, ballroom dancing, miming, dog training, bike riding, running, water sports of every kind including surfing, water skiing and snorkeling . Even after Ken’s injury he tried to participate in everything he could and do it to the best of his ability.

But more that his love of life, Ken will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, and his willingness to be a friend to everyone. It did not matter who you were if Ken knew that you needed help…Ken would be there. He loved helping and went out of his way to help others. Ken also had a deep love for the Lord and the Savior. Ken loved missionary work and I am sure our neighbors would concur as there were missionaries in our home weekly. Ken served a full-time mission in the Cleveland, Ohio mission, but he served a lifetime mission here on earth as he always wanted to share the gospel with his friends.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Shirley Pagan Hansen; sons, Karl A. Hansen, Kurt A. Hansen (currently serving an LDS mission in the Des Moines, Iowa Mission) and daughter, Kristina R. Hansen, of Stockton; father, Roger “Bob” J. Hansen (step-mother, Doreen), Eureka, CA. Ken’s mother, Donna J. Meyer Hansen, preceded him in death. Other survivors include sisters, Karla J. Hansen (Eric Tarrio), Eureka, CA; Katherine A. (Andrew) Hanson, Laguna Beach, CA; Kirstie O.H. (Dale) Yorgason, Riverton, WY; step-sisters Corrie L. (Robert) Shein, El Cajon, CA; and Theresa (Tazim) Venkataya, Orangevale, CA; Mother-in-law, Betty J. (Albert) Welt, Thousand Palms, CA; Sister-in-law Joanne (Larry) McColm, Utah, UT; 24 nieces and nephews, and 3 Aunts.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Thursday, September 2, 2010, at the Don Ave Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8806 Don Avenue, Stockton. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. Interment will take place the following day at Cherokee Memorial Park.
